President's Cup - November 30th 2025
The President's Cup was held at Loddon Vale Indoor Bowling Club this year as Loddon is the home club of our President Stella Hayden.
Although entries were down this year, eight teams provided great competitive bowling throughout the day.
During the morning a Round Robin of games took place where each team played seven ends or 50 minutes against three other teams. The four teams with the highest scores went through to the semi-finals in the afternoon. One semi-final was between Banister Park and the home team from Loddon Vale with Banister Park team winning. The second semi-final was between two teams from Palmerston. The final will take place at Loddon Vale on finals weekend where the two teams will play a full game of 18 ends.
Loddon Vale hosted the event very well making everyone welcome. Thanks go to Gary and his team for supplying the baguette lunch and for the tea and cake afterwards.
Thanks also to Stella, Yvonne, Sue and Cynthia who supported the players throughout the day and carried out scoring and timing duties leaving me free to play. Much appreciated ladies.
Looking forward to next year.

President’s Cup Report
The inaugural President”s Cup Competition took place at Banister Park Bowling Club on Sunday 23rd October 2022.
The only criterion for entry was that no competitor could have reached a County semi final or beyond or played in The Atherley Trophy.
Six triples teams played in a round Robin of five games of 6 ends or 50 minutes . Two points were awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
It was an enjoyable day with great enthusiasm shown by all ladies present. The bowling was competitive but teams demonstrated good sportsmanship, congratulating individuals on both sides, for shots well played. The results showed that teams were well matched with scores overall being very close.
Three games were played in the morning followed by an excellent baguette platter lunch provided by Dee . This was all included in the entry fee. The ladies all ate together and there was much banter and laughter!
With full tummies, the final two games were played in the afternoon.
While scores were finalised, thanks to Yvonne , who had spent the day recording the individual results (after analysing some score cards to elicit the result!) ladies gathered again in the restaurant for a drink , a review of the day and the raffle, the proceeds of which will go to Sue’s charity , Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
With the results in , the presentations were made by the president , Sue.
Finalists received a certificate and pen with the promise of a prize after the final which will be a full game of 18 ends to be held on finals weekend at Banister Park on the 1st/2nd April 2023.
Runners up received a small gift and pen as a memento of the day.
Everyone seemed to have had a great time and said they would enter again next year!
Who could ask for more?
Sue Lewis Parkes
President
